We have had to adapt to COVID-normal way of doing things.

There are a few things that have changed this year to ensure we can still provide you with a world class open water swim event.

Covid Plan

The 2021 event will be subject to a COVID PLAN, with measures in place and instructions and signage provided on the day to assist visitors in meeting the requirements of the plan.

Event Cancellation

In the event of a cancellation resulting from restrictions placed on gatherings by the SA Health Officer, SA Police or the State Government, specifically addressing COVID-19, entrants will be entitled to claim a refund equal to the sum paid, less $5 administration fee per entrant per swim.

Awards / Prizes

Prize money will be awarded in the 1500m Brighton Jetty Classic Elite Open and the 400m FAST LAP Invitational. A Trophy will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place of every swim wave. No other prizes will be packed / distributed.

Covid Safe Practice and Physical Distancing

Only Swimmers will be permitted to enter the Registration tent and the Swimmer Zone (Beach Start and Finish lines)

With the COVID Refund Guarantee in place in the case of event cancellation, swimmers are asked to register on line to avoid queuing and delays of registration. Subject to health advice, the BJC may elect to limit on the day registrations.

All visitors and participants will be asked to be mindful of physical distancing across events zones and adjacent public areas

Anyone entering the Street Zone (Marquee, Bars, Brighton Surf Club) will have to register by QR code or sign in.

While the streets surrounding the event will be closed to vehicles (foot traffic only), the normal activities in the street will be limited in 2022.

Any persons felling unwell or exhibiting any flu like symptoms are asked to stay away, arrange testing and isolate until test results are available.
