Whether it is raining, hailing or shining participants between 10 and 70 years+ are encouraged to join in and be active as you learn the skills to swim in the open water events (400m or 1500m) at the Brighton Jetty Classic.
All participants need to know how to swim. However, level of ability will be different for everyone.
These sessions commence on the first Saturday in November, 2010 and will be held every Saturday leading up to the Brighton Jetty Classic Event on the first Sunday in February 2010.
Sessions start on the beach at 2.45pm and finish at 3.45pm. Please register upstairs from 2.15pm at the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.
So you can practice your skills, you are welcome to participate in the 4 o'clock BSLSC swim event, which is coordinated by the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club. If after two sessions you wish to continue in the Club 4pm Handicapped Swim you will be required to join the Club unless a member of another SLSC.
Prior to commencing the program on the beach, please complete a Come n' Try form unless a registered member of the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club. We recommend that you come prepared with your bathers on, swim cap, goggles, sunscreen on, hat on, hydrated and with plenty of water to drink. Please bring with you any other necessities that you may require.
